J. Rodrigues has a degree in Psychology from the University of Porto. He trained at the Bromham Psychiatric Hospital in England and held positions in several European Programs, such as NOW – New Opportunities for Women.

Mainly works in the following areas: organizational change; personal overcoming; negotiation; leadership; resilience; motivation; driving teams; entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation.

As researcher, he focused his masters on establishing competencies to confront stress and anxiety. Later, he completed the PhD, whose scope is related to mental training, focusing his intervention essentially in the optimization of dimensions such as: motivation; establishing objectives; emotional management; self-confidence; team building and group cohesion.

Author of several articles and chronicles in the scope of behavioral management, sports psychology and social thinking. He has presented more than three hundred lectures and communications in companies, congresses and workshops, both in Portugal and across borders. He also collaborates with several newspapers and magazines and maintains regular activity as a TV commentator.

As a professor he teaches to masters and postgraduates disciplines such as: human resources management, communication and image, methods of psychological assessment, behavior in organizations and talent management, among others.

As part of his intervention in high athletic performance, he is a lecturer in football coaches courses and in this capacity, he was a professor of several coaches such as Jesualdo Ferreira, José Mourinho, among others.

1. Winning teams

The understanding of group reality goes far beyond the mere understanding of the individual considered separately. Especially because a “set of stars does not necessarily produce a constellation of great results.” Empirical evidence has already shown us that there are teams that manage to win due to their enormous collective strength. So it is important to “know the mass of which the cement that joins the different bricks is made, in order to transform the agglomerate into a cohesive and unshakable wall.” These are the ingredients we are going to talk about.

For this reason, we have put forward a series of guidelines that facilitate these processes, as well as leading employees to view these moments as stimulating opportunities, making them the main agents for their promotion.

5. Creativity and Innovation

If we want to be competitive, we have to do it differently. Thus, we must emphasize the various ways to promote creativity, so that the proliferation of ideas results in effective innovation, towards the conquest of the most demanding markets. We must also encourage “out of the box” thinking, that is, beyond the limit of the foreseeable. It is from this mass that the most avant-garde companies are made.

6. Resilience: how to overcome adversity

In times of crisis and enormous difficulty, more than ever, it is important not to lower your arms, revealing skills of confrontation. We can transform problems into challenges, thus managing to control our destiny, instead of assuming the future as inevitable fatalism. It is possible to change the human being’s mind set, increasing their determination and persistence. It is necessary to take advantage of the threats to become even stronger and more competitive.

7. Winning fury: trust and motivation

It intends to lead people to adopt attitudes committed to excellence “always playing to win, not being content with the comfort of the middle of the table.” It is a journey through the main skills associated with success. It’s a best of … So, we present several practical recommendations to increase motivation, self-confidence or leadership skills, among others. In short, it is a true injection of energy and mental vigor.

8. The marriage of guilt (personal responsibility)

“I was late because of the traffic”; “I was not promoted because the boss doesn’t like me” or “I failed because the test was difficult”, are some of the frequent expressions that always refer to third parties the cause of our own failures. As long as we think about it, we will do nothing to change the situation … This is at the root of laxism, non-compliance and intrigue that intoxicates organizations, making them less competitive. In this way, we recommend several practices that increase personal responsibility, moving from “it was them” to the assumed “it was me”, much more realistic, healthy and promoting individual and collective efficiency.
